Sand Therapy.
I am a member of both The British & Irish Sandplay Society (BISS), and The International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST), (Jungian Theoretical Approach). I have been working with BISS since I registered as a Psychotherapist in 1998.
In Sandplay I have worked successfully with adults as well as children. This form of therapy provides an exciting alternative, to face to face therapy.
This familiar encounter provides the opportunity for a therapeutic process to take place.
Sandplay is a means for individuals to give voice to their underlying feelings and emotions, working directly with the unconscious.
The therapist and participant share the journey and discuss the work achieved.
After each session a photograph of the sandtray is taken and on completion of the process, a collection of the photographs are handed to the Sandplayer giving a recorded journey of the process of the Sandplay Therapy.
Sandplay is now a worldwide, active and imaginative and therapeutic intervention for both adults and children.
We have all at sometime in our lives experienced that wonderful encounter with the sand, usually at the seaside.

BISS is a member of the International Society for Sandplay Therapy. This tradition of Sandplay applies a Jungian psychological approach, and was developed by Dora Kalff a Swiss psychotherapist in 1985.
